Disney Pixar Cars Wooden Toddler Bed

If you’re looking for a race car bed that comes from the Disney Pixar animation, Cars, you would most probably end up looking at one of the two choices. Either the heavy duty plastic race car bed from Little Tikes, or the one from Delta Enterprise Corp.

For the folks who prefer traditional wooden beds over modern plastic beds will choose the Delta Enterprise bed. The race car bed from Delta Enterprise is fully carved from solid wood so it is very sturdy and provides very stable support for your child.

The sides of the race car bed are decorated with licensed theme images from Cars, and the smooth, curvy lines enhance the sporty shape of the bed. However, unlike the race car bed from Little Tikes, this race car bed is less 3-D because the sides and front of the bed are essentially four flat pieces of planks screwed together. There are no moving parts on the race car bed, the wheels are but just painted decoration on the bed side. The only 3-D effect on the race car bed is a protruding number 95 which can be screwed onto the bed side.

A standard crib mattress will fit into the race car bed, leaving no gaps on the sides of the bed where little children can fall through. However, the wooden bed frame means that the bed sides are also hard wood without any cushion. To prevent children from injuring themselves, parents line bolsters, pillows or other cushions on the bed sides.

Assembly of the bed is not as complicated as other types of race car beds, especially since no stickers are involved. But you have to be good with wood work, especially handling screws on wooden surfaces. You have to be careful with over screwing, because that will break the tracks on the screw. You also have to put in the washers to prevent the wood from splintering. Several customers have complained about the wood falling apart after assembly, but it is likely that the bed was not properly placed together, probably because the assembling instructions are vague and not easy to follow unless you are good with such things.

The wooden bed is fairly heavy, but luckily it is still relatively small such that the weight of the race car bed is still manageable. Most parents and children have no problem with the Disney Pixar race car bed from Delta Enterprise. The kids love them, and the parents have no problem getting their children to bed. When you buy the race car bed, you will be glad how much less trouble you have at sleep time.
